To avoid the voitures and snag a pastry
Four months before
But for years craved more.
Take them their frites and wipe away the croissant flakes
Watch and assist as livres perused
Paint the dividing flow
No, too cliché, too devoid of talent
Lunch on baguette and brie with Pierre in a park
Across the alleys with lover Louis
Or just me on the stone banks eternally
