Someday
Your smile will shine; light up my day
as the sun does each morning.
Your laughter will bring me happiness and joy
as the first signs of April flowers.
Your soft skin, I will forever crave
as a butterfly’s fragile wings.
I will love to hold you and never let go,
as the Earth’s gravitational pull.
Our memories together will be never ending
as seems some summer days.
And just like summer, storms will come
we won’t always get along.
I will always be there; no matter the case
my love for you will be strong.
So even though you’re not here yet,
and might not be for a long while
I love you, my future child.
