Awkward class interventions

You know
The word
The inescapable
Love it or hate it
Concept
That occupies the
Bread of conversation

Of course you can go alone
Is what they say
Funny how those who say it
ALL
Have their own dates

Sleek dresses
Big limousines
And parties that are too full

The almost-asked-him
The I’m-too-lazy’s
And the flat out rejects

I guess that’s why they made
It
So we can sit at home
Scrolling dresses
Making cards
Getting nervous
Have Can’t-believe-she-got-asked
Conversations about
Prom
