I try to be who I am
I try to be what I'm not.
Afraid to admit the truth.
Afraid because I'm in love with you.
You know my secrets, you know me well.
But in all the same you don't know me as far as i can tell.
I try.
Try to impress.
Try to be smart.
Try to be beautiful.
I try, but I don't feel any of these things. I try.
You say I shouldn't have to,
because I'm imperfectly perfect, just the way i am.
Hard-headed is my nature, so yet i don't understand.
But still I try...
At the end of the day I'm just still your plain ol' Tica.
