A heart to cheer the soul,
A smile to make my day.
A little kid's laughter
Will soon fade away.
A heart to cheer the soul,
A tear here and there.
For I am not scared
To share a little care.
A heart to cheer the soul
Which stays with me
Each step of the way
But will soon be free.
A heart to cheer the soul
Whether you're down in sorrow,
But will soon be glad
Come the day of tomorrow.
A heart to cheer the soul
With a smile upon your face.
Just to be glad
May be the case.
A heart to cheer the soul
Even on the gloomiest days.
Only to become gay
Seems like the only way.
