Fighting the war
Sometimes I forget how old I am.
Trying to deal with my problems.
All my imperfections.
Somehow they aren’t me.
In fact they are changing me.
The more I try to hold on the more you slip away.
Whispers echoing loudly.
My doubts running off the tracks.
A huge debate with myself.
Caught in a mad mans adventures.
I hide my face behind the mask.
Put my armor on to hide the scars
Just a soldier in battle.
I started the fight but I go down wounded.
Are you surprised I came back up fighting?
Tears in my eyes still trying.
You will never know this war.
Until you fight in it.
Baby I won’t stop until I win.
Never give up.
Never surrender.
