Favorite Quote:
Be a leader, not a follower

You think I'm here for your pleasure
Think you're clever using compliments and whispers
Because you think we "belong together"

You think that you can sweet talk your way into my arms
Then use your charm to work your way into my jeans
And stroke the crooks of my body like it was velveteen
You want to caress my back and use your hand as your guide
As If somehow your name were inscribed

Now, I may have been born at night, but it wasn't LAST night
So you might wanna rewrite your game
Because I know you spit it to the other girl who lives down the way
But that's my homie and we don't know what game you're trying to play
Because you told me in the morning what you told her at the end of the day

That when you see me time slows and a smile grows in your heart
And even though we aren't together you'd die before we part
You said "your hands fit perfectly in mine, its a sign"
And when our fingers intertwine, you could hear a symphony
You told me the stars shine brighter at the sound of my voice

And when you look into my eyes the angels in Heaven rejoice
Unbeknownst to them up above
That the cause of their singing is a mere human girl with whom you're in love

And I believed you.

I wrote this poem, like all my poems, in school and it is probably my second favorite poem I have ever written. Its supposed to be spoken like you would do Spoken Word Poetry.
