Broken Angel
Her soundless sobs
Sober hearts around her,
Letting them taste her pain,
Running done porcelain cheeks
Like salty rain.
Feathers that once took flight
Fall broken and alone
As cry and moan echo from the lips
Of their mistress.
Fallen in prayer’s twin
With a heart begging to be
Set free of the agony that accompanies
Ever single memory and tear
That trails its way to stone,
Alone she half lays on a pedestal,
Not ray or hope from cloud above
Or the dove of the Spirit doing much help
