Flower
You see it there
The perfect one
No other is like it
It is unique
Not one can rival it
In beauty and fragrance
You see it there
It calls to you
But think before you pull it from the ground
It has grown there from seed to flower
You yank and jerk and it silently screams
But its unheard pleas go unnoticed by you
Who are you to tear it from its mother?
Its mother, who is Earth, weeps for her child
Its roots, like fingers, clawing desperately the soil
You throttle it and heartlessly carry it away
Without its home, it withers and dies
Although you think the glass vase is enough
It sobs in the night when you are fast asleep
And during the day it remains quiet and pitiful
If ever you stumble upon a flower as beautiful
Leave it where you found it and do not disturb it
Admire its beauty from afar and wonder
Why on earth you would steal it from its bed
