Vibrant flowers
Withering away
we have been
sitting in the dark
Sunlight we have seen none,
until, until we see the one
the light shines in and brings us through
brings us to freedom
but still,
people don't see us right
they only see
our thorns
they swim in the petals,
while we float in the dark
we know where we need to be,
and now is the time to go there
to set ourselves free
we will not stop,
nor will we rest
until we come up,
equal
we cannot turn back,
not now,
not ever
we must
march
on
