Passing of a Loved One
The passing of a loved one
Can open our eyes
To the way we have lived
For most of our lives
We reflect on the past,
On memories hidden
Searching for hope
We might be forgiven
We silently call
Through time and space
Just wanting to see
Our loved one’s face
Not wanting to say
Our final goodbyes
Knowing one day we’ll meet
In those heavenly skies
Through so much pain
Some say we weaken
But we really know
Our hearts will strengthen
For the ripples of time
Can never truly erase
The gentle feeling
Of love’s eternal embrace
