You Said You Would Stay
The day started off so good. A good morning text made it that way. Missing you through the night had me excited to see you.
The afternoon went by great, dinner and a movie made it that way. Our fingers entwined the whole time. I’ll never forget how you said I looked beautiful.
The night could have gone like the rest, it really could of. Laughing on the way back, fingers still locked. It’s weird how a text made the day start off so good, but made it end so badly.
I wanted you to stay, and you said you would. But when something more fun and interesting presented itself, it’s a whole other story.
I wanted you to stay, and I swear you were going to. But I just guess the hurt on my face wasn’t enough to make you stay.
The day with me wasn’t good enough; I wasn’t good enough to make you stay.
When you said you would.
