Spine to the window,
Eyes on his hands,
Remembering the times of hatred,
Destroyed by the intensity of passion.

One step closer,
Two steps back,
Pressed to the wall,
Trapped.

Filthy paws crawling over,
Screaming and crying,
Chest constricted,
The worst pain of all.

I wake,
Shaking and shuddering,
Thankful,
For it was only just a dream.
