The Writing on the wall needs revision

He waved
Something I would normally respond to
That coat, his worn pack

It made me quake that morning

Nothing could be considered unusual that morning
Fall fog had it’s presence,
Impending,
Something light couldn’t overlay

And the sun would lend no help at dawn

The same glacial farmhouse stood,
The occupants unexceptional
But prior they lost their child

The noise and light hit
The shade stared into the glare of the bus
He morphed into an explosion of leaves
The crunch of leaves under tires
