I asked the stars why do you shine?
They said to light your way
I asked the moon what do you see?
It said children having fun past curfew.
I asked the step why must you creek?
It said because you forgot to fix me like you were told.
I asked the porch light why must you bust me?
It said it is what is best for you.
I asked my father why must you scold me?
He because your mother expects me to.
