There's No Prince
I'm looking for a prince in all the wrong places,
I'm searching and searching in familiar faces.
I've not met one man to even come close,
Not one man to love me most.
It seems I've been searching far too long,
Every guy has proven to be so wrong.
They hurt me and leave me,
Throw me back into reality.
I want to escape, find someone to come,
Far past this world and into a new one.
To share my laughs and smiles and fears,
A smile I'll not tire of after many years.
A Prince to stay faithful and trustworthy too,
Someone that wont dictate to what I can and can't do.
We can party and slumber,
Age could just be a number.
He'll give me everything I want and need,
I'll return the favour, never have to plead.
Up until all hours of the morning,
Talking, never getting boring.
Sharing secrets and stories of our past,
Knowing we could really make it last.
Alas, I'm Red, and you can see,
Prince Charming never came for me.
I hide in the shadows, all alone now,
Realising and wanting to cry aloud.
Realising how wrong I had been,
To have ignored that boy I'd seen.
The wolf.
