Summer
Days of freedom, days of laughter
Giggling hysterically as you spray your friends with water
Walking down the street
Knowing
That everything is going to be okay
The smell of barbecues and lawnmowers
The sun in your eyes, the warm breeze on your face
Opening a good book
Sitting
In a lusciously green oak tree
Music pulsing through the car stereo
Screaming and singing with your arms up in the air
As the sun goes down
Carefree
The adrenaline of being alive, coursing through your veins
Swinging at the park
Feeling the world flying under your feet
Thinking about the future
Excitement
For what is to come
Fresh air, trees, and animals everywhere
You feel like the only person alive
As you hike through the mountains
Exhilaration
At the beauty of our world
Digging your toes into the sand
The salty, fresh air whipping warmly around you
Staring into the endless blue
Peace
For a fragment of your life
You’re heart speeding up as you get to the top
Then it goes down
You scream and laugh with fear and joy
Summer
The rollercoaster of life.
