Angel of the Night
Now I lay me down to dream
Losing sleep
As I count sheep
It's you, those pacifying words you speak
These gentle lullaby's, I seek
And in the morning light I peek
Tangled in sheets
Gaze upon your chiseled cheek
You angel, you seraph
Impossibly divine
How far from Heaven,
did you fly?
To appear here so sweetly, by my side
Take to your wings
Take me into the night
Off of the ground
And into the sky
Let your light be our guide
Close to you, hold me tight
Your stars intoxicate me,
While my love takes you high
Land me gently at the break of day
You take my soul as you fly away
But that's okay, you'll keep it safe
Just swear to me that you'll return
I'll await here, awake
To feel your addicting blaze burn
Leave me here in a sleep-like state
Crave devout presence
Your angelic heart, for Heaven's sake
As I lay me down to sleep
I pray to you to always stay
