Fallen Angel
The Pearly Gates
 Are so far away
 I can no longer reach
 Paradises entry way.
 I didn’t fight in God’s war
I had something else to do
Instead of fighting by my brothers
 I was fighting for you.
 Such a perfect little creature
A light in all the grey
Never had I paid attention to anyone
 Until that very special day.
When we talked, my palms would sweat
When you laughed, my heart fluttered like a dove
And I realized, to my surprise
For you, I was falling in love.

 I thought I’d forever be
 In my Fathers grace
 But I gave up everything
And was forced to leave His place.
 My wings were clipped
And a human’s life I was sent to live
But if given the chance again
I would again give all I could give.
 Scars cover my body
Where wings and runes used to be
Of Power, Strength, Agility, and more
A story of what was once the old me.
I’ve moved on from my past
Of when I lived on a cloud
Because you shot me down, now a fallen angel
 A miracle God has allowed.
