The sun falls
in glimmers
of hope
and also want.

It meets the scorching cement,
then shatters
into a million
tiny fragments of heat.

Summer has awakened
As the heat grabs a hold
of my newly cooled skin
From the air-conditioned room.

I have said my farewell
To the place I call school
And the parting
Feels uncomfortable.

Summer is the time of carefree,
The time of leisure,
But also the time
Of parting.

But Summer will end again
Making way for Autumn,
The time for a student's
new beginning

The way the joy that comes out of this poem fills me with joy and wonder and makes me think about this summer and how my next Hs year is going to turn out after this summer.
