Golden Boy
You're just a little boy in a big man's home
Won't even try pretending that you're getting old
The spirits' the same as when you were three
Laughing and smiling for all that can be
So free with your heart, don't even blink at the lies
You stare at the stars, you stare at the skies
You stare up in wonder at what could be
Yes, the spirit's the same as when you were three
You appreciate the little things, stop to smell the roses
You know money isn't worth much, time is really golden
A man is said to be wise, but a boy's got much more
He's got innocence and purity, imagination for the bores
Such a shame that the world we know
Makes you change to survive
For I like not the man
But the long forgotten boy living inside
