I promise to surround you with
beautiful things
with overbloomed cornflowers
and gnarled toes
and do not forget:
with beasts on my shoulders,
I will rise.
I’ll peel away the veils of
gold-dusted grasses and
salty skies and
when you find yourself
losing yourself
to the earth,
I will clothe you.
Together we will cut our hair
and together
we will sing
