Shatter and Walk Away
Shatter, shatter
 breaking down
 the world falling away
 in a spiraling whisk
 of trouble
 of fear
 of sorrowful screams
 that haunt the night
 shatter,
like the fragile sheet of glass
that so many others hide behind
 let it fall around you
in a shower of sparkling shards
 raining down and over you
 unhurt,
 untouched,
 unburdened by it's painful sting
the shards of light can't hurt,
 because your already gone
 walking away,
 from the pitiful excuse
that you had once called happiness
 and open the door,
 to a new life,
a new happiness, a true one,
 a new faith,
 a new hope,
 a new you
 everything is different now,
 and suddenly,
 the glass is gone,
the shards of light are back,
 and you feel yourself smile
 and for the first time,
 your hopeful,
 your happy,
 your wiser,
 your everything,
 you've always wanted to be,
 yourself
