Friends
It felt like forever that you were gone
I marked my pain by the ashes of my cigarette
The fear in my eyes of you never coming back
Went for a walk for days on end
Hoping I’d get to hug you again
So close and now so distant
Time went by as I watched the clock
We saw each other and saw the feelings in our eyes
Never really had to talk about it
A simple smile put it to peace
Life got a little harder even with you
Others making my misery worse
I thought I was alone until I ended up in your arms
Tears stain your shirt as a friendly word was said
That’s when I truly discovered I’d never lose you again
I am to you as you are to me
Just friends that have love for eachother
As life proceeds to go on as if it’s meant to be
Two friends in perfect harmony
