A Moment Ago
Change is inevitable
But it’s not supposed to change
From one second to the next
Things don’t happen overnight
Or throughout the day
But I’m a witness; a moment ago
I’m pretty sure I didn’t feel this way
And I’m fighting with myself
Knowing I shouldn’t
But so desperately wanting to
Why did it have to be you?
Why can’t I choose?
It’s not fair when you get my heart
I won’t admit who you are
I won’t let it get that far
But I know I’ve failed every time
So what am I going to do
When everyone finds out it’s you?
I hate how I can’t control how I feel
I’m mad that all this real
Can I tell you a secret, though?
In reality, I’m also happy
I love the feeling of your arm around me,
Love how hard you make me laugh
And how enough is never enough
