Middle School
My head is hung down
in defeat
it once used to be lifted
up in pride
for what I stood for
who I was
But then you came
and took
everything
from me.
So that's how I got her
but you already know that
you have won
so why do you continue to
beat me until all of my breath
has left my lungs?
Will you only stop when I have nothing left?
What more
do I have left?
The ones who used to
stand beside me
now laugh at me
and push you to do more.
Wounds are supposed to heal
and fade
until there is
nothing left.
But they can't heal
when you keep reopening them.
They get a little larger
each time
