every day monotony

drowsy off of the sudden
shift in consciousness,
i stumble between the sheets
of my bed, struggling to get up
and move on with my day.
i have no refuge or save haven
to run to, no arms of steel
to crush me in an embrace.

i am left reeling on my last film strip,
stained with memories of you-
over and over and over.

I feel you with this one. sometimes life seems to be a record that plays itself over and over again. as if nothing exciting will ever happen. the imagery, by the way, is perfect.

This poem had such strong imagery! I especially like this line: stained with memories of you- over and over and over.... Very well done!

This poem has amazing imagery, I especially like: I have no refuge or safe haven/ to run to, no arms of steel/ to crush me in an embrace.
