"Common sense is the collection of prejudices acquired by age eighteen." Albert Einstein

The hurt boy talks to the water,
as it laps as his feet making him feel smarter.
Singing in ripples of encouragement
Telling to ignore the letter that was sent
From school about his non existent work
Reading the letter he could almost see the smirk
across his teachers face
but a grimace took its place
on his father as he began to shout
after, the hurt boy felt pretty knocked about
if only his mum was here
there would be no need for a single tear
because his work would be completed
and his sisters skirt neatly pleated
he wouldn't be doing all the washing
with his dad just never stopping moaning.
"If only" the hurt boys' shoulders shrugged
because it was long since they had been hugged.
