My Confusions
I just don’t understand.
How is this piece a poem?
 There are no rhymes.
 There is no meter.
 Still somehow it’s poetic.

I think it is a little ridiculous,
how this counts as a poem.
 I just don’t get
what makes this better than an essay

Maybe it is because it looks shorter.
No one wants to read a paper,
but this ‘poem’ looks like no big deal.

I think I’m starting to get it.
What makes a poem a poem.
 If it sounds good,
 If it reads well,
 Then it is poetry.

 If you have ideas,
 If you want to write,
Then a poem like this will do just fine.
