The Fog
It hung heavy this morning
drowning out the distant Sun
soaking the green in soft
wet
grey
still yet in constant motion
It shrouded buildings
faces
cars
not yet smoke and not yet air
the cloudy condensation choked
yet released my lungs
It sat low upon our uniformed shoulders
as though the sky had dropped.
It tasted Thick and Heavy
with Ominous foretelling
but more ominous was the reflecting
the Fog but showed
that Deep Damp Dark
hidden sweet in each beating heart
