Drips were chrome echoes on the cool walls and drops were clear scales on the tub.
There were monster’s eyes in the water staring back at me and I curled up on my side with guilt exploding in my stomach and poisoning my lungs.
Dragon’s breath seeped from my mouth and burned my throat but I didn't care and sucked away my life.
Cheeks sucked, toes puckered and pink I felt the inside of myself and draped my legs against the sides of the slimy bath.
Under my breath, there it was, a fugitive whisper—“I want to disappear”.
I thought about leaving that moment.
I turned on the steamy water, turned it off.
Stood up,
wore my towel like a cape,
eyed my flush.
And padded away
