New and exciting
With vibrant paints and gentle strokes.
You are my painting.
Beautiful and sincere.
I can’t take my eyes off of you.
You are my painting.
Older and duller.
I long for something new.
You are my painting.
Dry and forgotten
Coated in dust.
You are my painting.
Tactless and juvenile.
What did I see in you.
You are my painting.
Nostalgic and yellowed
Hidden under boxes and stiff sheets.
And even after all this time I still hate to see your edges curl.
