suspended, I am like a puppet that hangs lifeless
on heartless strands of bitter love
painstakingly, I endure the jagged pain
in hopes that your gentle touch will redeem me
from the horrors of consciousness
I beg you
please
spare me a fragment of your affection
even if it’s only a penny’s worth
salvage me from this tomb of anguish
unshackle me from these chains of misery
free me from solitary
and I promise you
that I will never shoot my arrow of love
anywhere else but at your heart
