"What is the point of being alive if you don't at least try to do something remarkable?"

Once upon a time,
I had a writer’s bump
on my right middle finger.

I stole a pencil with frogs on it
so my words would have magic in them.

Now my fingers all feel the same
and all of the pencils that I have
are dull from their overuse, but

no matter how hard I press the pencil to paper,
the magic is still dried up
and my words
don’t mean anything.

Somewhere in my desk is an unsharpened pencil with frogs on it, but I know
I won’t ever use it again.

This is so simple and relatable. Please check out my poem! xx

The more control you have over yourself, the less control others have over you.

Hey there! I like the title, it's realy interesting. I like the poem. The simplicity is really nice. I enjoyed this for what it was. I like the happiness in the behinning and the sadness near the end. The joy really leads up to a sad ending. I like the descriptions of the pencil. Good job.

To be nobody but yourself in a world that is trying it's hardest every night and day to change you into everyone else is to fight the hardest battle a human being can fight, and never stop fighting.

AW! :( Like all successful poetry, your poem evokes emotions. First happiness and excitement then disappointment and sadness, I really like this poem! :D I love the way you describe the pencil as "a pencil with frogs on it", it justs makes it seems even more magical :) If you have the time, it would be really cool if you could check out some of my work, I would love to hear your opinion of it :)
