The Infection
I cannot sleep I cannot be
Until I bare this piece of heart
It is not neat nor is it pretty
 But it is me
 It starts with the infection
 Setting deep within my marrow
It is not bright nor is it gentle
 But it is me
 The thought begins to fester
 The idea begins to form
It is not wonderful nor splendid
 But it is me
 The contagion hits my fingers
 Drawing thought into motion
It is not ordered nor is it pleasant
 But it is me
The only cure for this infection
Is to free the words within
 To turn them into beauty
And to let myself be me
