The wind it used to thrash around
It would smack me in the face
And pull at my hair and make me cry
So I’d hide from the world for days

No matter how light or how hard
A single touch from the breeze
When I felt I’d lost control
I’d go to the shadows and drop to my knees

Wind meant anger and jealousy
A harsher world and spite
I felt so alone when it was near
My urge to live was gone in the night

But one day as I lay in my head
Amongst the fear and pain
I felt a storm within my heart
And from my face it started to rain

I took my stand and looked above
I yelled into the day
The wind fought back and pushed unendingly
But I thrust the thoughts away

So slowly then, the wind was calm
Then nothing but silence was heard
Within me peace began to flood
Strength and tranquility blurred

The wind was gone
The wind was dead
The wind was quiet
The wind had only been in my head
