Something in the Air: My Story
Torn hearts and broken.
Memories of our love scattered behind.
There is something about this night
Something unique here
A glimpse of hope that is undoubtedly visible.
No matter how much I try to deny it’s existence,
Like the shimmering light, Which glows,
illuminating the darkness,
It forever remains.
They are placed with care on the road
Beside the convenience store
Where our eyes first met.
Set aside until…
We can visit this chapter of the story again.
My story.
Now you know.
This has never been a straight road.
There were turns and hills.
Traps yearning for us to fall.
But I am not the losing type.
Now you see.
I can’t give in
Because I won’t stand for this feeling.
So close to losing you.
And one day,
I know we will even up the score.
Together.
And then I walk up the two streets down to your house.
I knock.
The tears begin to swell in my eyes.
I am amazed to see your lean silhouette peer out the window.
There is that slight twinkle in your eye I have always known.
The door creaks and what I see
is you.
There was something in the air that night!
I was astonished to finally realize.
This revelation that a love like ours is never simple
Makes me content.
This uphill battle was worth it, to me.
My story can resume, and when it concludes
We will end happily.
