Hope.
She paces in the asylum
Of the mind—
An insane prisoner,
Sure of her sanity.
She spends her days
In a dark cell,
Screaming to the silence:
Sure that there is light.
Thought constantly being
Berated, whipped, and beaten
For her perfidious actions,
She never
Submits to the power
Of the pain.
