Guardian
Your cold dark eyes,
Reveal more than you know,
They tell me what your words don't,
That the excruciating pain you feel,
Is almost unbearable,
And your past haunts you,
Lingering everywhere you go,
You convince yourself,
That all the things you've done,
And all the wrongs you can't make right,
Define you,
That you are damnable,
Beyond redemption,
And unworthy of being helped,
When the reality of it is,
You just won't let anyone try,
I want to be your guardian,
The one that will relieve the hardship,
And protect you,
From all the walls that are tumbling down,
All around you,
I want to help you,
If you would just let me try.
