Life was a bowl full of cherries

Each day different from the next

Never as sweet or a sour

Not one the least or the best

The cherry I tasted that morning

At first had a sweet, pleasant look

But I've learned not to judge by the outside

The cover is not like the book

It was next on my taste buds quite bitter

I tripped and I fell in the hall

I had forgotten my papers

And you had not answered my call

But bitter is better than sour

That I came quickly to know

For bad went to worse oh so quickly

And I was left on my own

So life is a bowl full of cherries

Some not so pleasant and sweet

And I've learned not to trust any liars

Or leave my poor heart on my sleeve
