Perspective MAG
I know her better than anyone,
But she really grinds my gears.
She sees me go for seconds
And then whispers in my ear.
“You've gained a couple pounds, you know,
So you better put that back.
Thigh gaps are always pretty,
And that is something you lack.”
She's in all of my classes at school,
So I never get a break.
Last week, I wore some makeup,
And she told me I looked fake.
I guess this girl's a friend of mine,
But she's bullied me for years.
I laugh with her in public
And then I go home in tears.
But last night, I confronted her
To tell her I had enough.
For the first time, she backed down.
She saw that I could be tough.
“I won't let you put me down again.
Can I be any clearer?”
I'm glad no one was around
'Cause I was yelling at a mirror.
