a body is a body and a body
is a hungry hungry thing.
i don't want to understand at all.
when you leave the room and i still smell you
when we dance and our foreheads touch
when she looks up at me in the midnight twilight greengrass rain
when i'm alone at the end and still
upside-down … like i said:
i don't want to understand at all.
just hold my hand when it's next to yours
kiss me on nights like this
and then tomorrow when i'm in love with her again please be there for me
i'm sorry.
i know i don't know.
i guess i never told you you're my hero, more than ciaran, you've been saving me
when i swore i'd save myself
and i've been throwing you back like a
magic fish i know i could never keep.
the naps we take together and the times we've laughed together
when i accidentally called nine-one-one, when
the summer sun shone on us despite the things we weren't talking about.
oh, i'm tired
so tired, my friend, of growing up and
finding out.
i don't want to understand at all.

I'm wondering with brimming curiosity as to whom this sincere this poem is addressed to. Either way, I love the emotion—as always, your ardent and passionate love, the unwillingness to mature and face the world, the hopeless despairity, the labryinthed confusion of Life and Love, the longing to be accepted and loved unconditionally. You're a marvel. Congrats, friend, on the publication. I can't think of a more deserving poet to grace the pages of the magazine. Love, love, love—Mckay. :)
