i am your fragment
an unfinished thought
begun but unexplored
a fresh new idea
but that is all i am
the start of something new
an uncultured whimsy
with no end
an alpha with no omega

you are my run-on
your story never ends
inconstant and indifferent
moving rapidly from
one thought to the next
never bothered by the
disjointed fragments
you leave behind
you have your
ands buts ors nors fors yets
to excuse yourself

you make it seem like
we will unify to create
a clear sentence
eventually a coherent thought
a pulsing one
you stretch my premature limbs
to make me fit
into your story
but i am incomplete
and you move on
while i crawl to you

i was never
a part of you
i'd never complete you
and you'd never be
the happy ending
to my miserable beginning

The author's comments:
I'm a grammar nerd. I friggin (that's not grammatically correct but bear with me) love English. Therefore, I was inspired to write this poem. Plus, a ton of other emotions. I wrote it a long time ago. But I was too damn lazy to submit it. According to the WritingCenter, "a sentence fragment is an incomplete sentence." And according to Wikipdedia, "a run-on is a sentence in which two or more independent clauses (i.e., complete sentences) are joined without appropriate punctuation or conjunction." (A run-on just continues from one thought to the next without a pause.)By the way the line, "and's but's..." are conjunctions.

Saphira, my how the ages have past. It's been so long. I was remembering one of these days how it had been forever. I though you were done with Teenink. Or at least with my work. Good to know that wasn't the reason, even though I feel bad that you were grounded. (By the way, how were your exams? Good results?) Thank you so much for taking the time to read this poem and decihpher it. And for taking the time to express your appreciation for it. Thank you, Dua. Means to universe to me. This was a poem of spur of the moment. Something of the ex nihilo. Truly. I'm so happy people love it as much as I did when I wrote it. Thank you.

I can't even deal with this. It's so lovely, so true, so real and raw that it makes me want to just curl into a ball and cry. Which is a good thing, because perfect poetry always makes me cry. This is spectacular; it gives that sensation of emotion that isn't faked, but comes from the deepest part of your marrow and wow. This line (you stretch my premature limbs/
to make me fit/
into your story/
but i am incomplete/
and you move on/
while i crawl to you.) made me just want to stop breathing and meld into these words. I can't do this now omg. I hope you're happy(which you should be) because you just gave me that sinking collarbone feeling I get when I need to write a poem. Thank you friend; you completely deserve this editor's choice, and all the perfection and gloury that comes with it.- Ada

This piece is very witty, flowing, and attention-grabbing. I really like this one Mckay, great job!

When i was little/I used to point a chubby finger toward the dark sky/And ask my father/why some stars moved and others didn’t/He would laugh and explain that some were airplanes/I still wish on them today ~ Laugh-It-Out

If love produced a blossom/I’d take it in my palm/What a blessing, the bright color!/How soothing, such a balm!/I’d keep a petal for my own/The rest, drop from my hands/For such a flower would multiply/And populate the lands~ thesilentraven
And I began to rival legends/Long entombed before my birth./But for all my much envied fame/The lust for more would not abate./The plaques and prizes with my name/Will, like all things, disintegrate. ~ TheEpic95 now known as Helena_Noel

Firstly. It has been far too long Mckay. Which is in part my fault I guess. Not in part, all of it :P Well, I should apologize. Sorry. Just life realy makes fools of us sometimes and I have these periods of time when my internet priveleges are taken away. So this was one of those times. Also I was sad and when I'm sad, I mostly make others sad too, so I was well off away.    Now, secondly I've looked at your profile and you've been getting quite the response. Totally deserved. And wow, another editor's choice. You seem to be blowing them away with your words just as much as us.   Thirdly thank you for your kind kind words on my stuff that I occasionally posted while I couldn't really come here for more than five minutes.  adored them. You rock Mckay. I missed you. And I'm going to read all of your stuff that I've missed while I've been gone soon. :)   And now coming to this poem. Well, your explanation made it so much clearer, but even without it it would've been spectacular, though this adds the dual meaning to it. And I just love that kind of poems. And the never-capitalizing your 'i's has kind of become your signature. Don't you change it then :P  The way it starts off is very captivating. And the ending, affirms it all. wow. My favourite parts were, "you stretch my premature limbs" and " and unfinished thought, begun but unexplored. "    Bravo. Love always. Dua.

Life isn't measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments which take your breath away.

You are only as strong as your weakest link.

Beautiful! I love the symbolism in this poem, and the idea of chasing someone who cannot make you whole. The contrast in the first two stanzas is very well-done. Great work! :)
