Fear of Stop
Change is evolution, the endless beginnings of our human world.
Change is development, the fight for beauty, extravagance, potency.
Change is people, always trying to be being.
Change is animate, for stop is an enigma.
And because stop is so puzzling, people fear stop.
People, for example, fear death, the stop of life.
And also,
People fear losing their jobs, the stop of daily incentive to work.
People fear the semester, the stop of usual class patterns.
People fear the winter, the stop of the summer.
And people fear the night, the stop of the day.
And at some point, around the end of baby and the start of adolescent,
People fear caring, the stop of the selves.
And because people change so much, so frequently,
non-stop
That they don’t even know why the stop of care is
such an issue.
