To Prove I Love You
I used to guard my heart and mind,
 Behind a cleverly crafted disguise,
But found that it would fade away,
Every time I met your eyes.

You taught me how to trust again,
 And remove my flawless façade.
I realized I was falling for you more,
With each new memory we made.

The fact that you love me still
And forgive all of my past mistakes,
Makes me want to prove I love you,
 Regardless of what it takes.

If I could, I’d rearrange the stars,
Using only the ones most bright,
And write ‘I love you’ in the sky,
To shine through the darkest night.

And if a raindrop meant ‘I love you’,
I’d give you the infinite blue sea.
And if a minute meant ‘I need you’,
I’d give you all of eternity.

But I can’t rearrange the stars,
Nor give you the ocean and eternity.
So I guess you’ll just have to believe it,
When I confess how much you mean to me.
