When He Left
Once
I could fly
And go so high
My wings
So beautiful
And yet so delicate
But then
I let him
Get to close
And
When my back
Was turned
He ripped
Them out
With his cruel fingers
The pain
Was unlike
Anything I had ever felt
I turned
To ask him why
But he was no longer there
My shattered heart
And broken wings
Were all I had
Liquid crystal
Fell from
My eyes
And
Liquid rubies
Fell down my back
