Speak
There are some words that can't be spoken
They're tied down to our tongues
Never again allowed to be set free
No matter what we've done
I have a tongue full of words
And a mind full of wisdom
But with the way my hands are bound
They wont ever be heard
I'm so sorry, world
And all the people who walk through it
Living their lives with endless wonder
Afraid to speak the truth
Oh but what am I to do
With a tongue full of words
'fore if I speak I would be trapped
Inside my mind
If I don't speak we will lose
Everything we fought for
And if I speak I will lose
My only reason to fight for
It's such a funny world
Watching everyone walk through it
Hidden by cloaks of fear
Wandering aimlessly beneath them
I wonder where the truth lies
Tucked away beyond the rubble
Never again to be set free
Without a tongue sensing trouble
Why do you sit there
Sunken hope and drowned despair
Shoulders shaking with quiet sobs
And all without a tongue to speak
I watch you from the window
As your eyes are glazing over
But there's nothing I can do
You lie there with your hands bound
Holding your lifeless soul to the ground
