Sitting here in the sun
I feel as if the world will sit and watch me spin.
(It's amazing what a little Vitamin D will do to you.)
Powerful, I absorb the strength of this celestial being
Maybe you don't know how it is to be alone
How it is to sit by yourself
Alone with your thoughts
In a city of 8.5 million.
Maybe you don't know the comfort
Of sitting alone on this lawn
Insulated by the presence of 8.5 million.
This light warms me to my core
In a way my shower can no longer do.
An ear to the city, an ear to the Woodside
I have to turn it up so not to miss the sax solo.
Maybe you don't know that this is living
That this moment will nourish me far more than the expensive meals
The ten dollar smoothies
Maybe this is all it takes to live.
Belief that you can find magic everywhere.
Anywhere.
That being alone is not loneliness.
That the sun is not so far to forget how to reach you.
It's amazing what a little Vitamin D will do to you.
