For what if I am right?
But what if I am wrong?
Should I have gone left?
Should my life sing a different song?
But Hope stays in the heart
And does not leave when fear imparts
A dark whisper

An ominous lie
But Hope whispers softly,
You’ll get on through
Every trial which ensues

For if I am wrong
Then I’d rather sing the song
Of hope in my heart

As a Christian, I’d rather live
Even if no Christ there is
For a good God, I’d rather die
Even if no heaven waits
Filled with hope, I’d rather walk
Even if no hope is true
For if life, as you say
Is but meaningless play
Rather I would live with,
Within me dwelling
A Greater Hope.

This is cool. I really like the message. It's something I could use. Could you possible read my article "You Really Love me?" You don't have to if you don't want to. But thanks!

I like the message of this one, that keeping hope will help you in rough times, though I think the ending was kind of awkward because of the inverted sentence structures on every line. Other than that, good writing!

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I greatly appreciate your comments; it means a lot! I was certainly trying just to share why I believe rather than to convince anyone; just to be honest.

I personally have a dislike for poems that talk about religion because they become so common and drug out over the same topic, yet I rather enjoyed this one. It kept me engaged from start to finish especially with the flow of the poem. In a way this poem encourages hope within the reader. And drives out the sarcastic ones who believe that hope is useless. Its an agruement in a way but not necessarily one that aims to persuade just share. I tend to think that the message was pretty clear and that you expressed it rather nicely. Well done. Greatly deserved 5 stars

Is the message that unclear? Hum, I guess I should work on that. What I mean to say is that if life is meaningless, then why not live it with hope, and if life is meaningful, the the hope is all the better.

My only love sprung from my only hate. Too early seen unknown and known too late.

This is a very interesting poem. Think what you meant by it was that even if no hope exisits you would rather think there is. I could be wrong.

I think I know the meaning... It has a nice flow in my opinion. This is now one my favorite poems on this site.
