When murder becomes art,
and the killer, an artist,
and the body, the brush

that was scraped
over the white canvas

And the trail of
sticky, scarlet
blood

pretty enough
to put
on display.

I was inspired by a Hans Hofmann painting. I saw it in the Berkeley Art Museum, and thought it was ugly.
